About
Alex Magallanes is a proud gender non-conforming first-generation Mexican-American Stage Manager primarily based out of New York City and Atlanta, Georgia.
This March they will begin work on Millions at The Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia as the Production Assistant.
Most recently they worked as the Assistant for Salome at Heartbeat Opera in New York City, which had a triumphant sold out run with rave reviews, including a New York Times critics pick.
Alex fell head over heels for Stage Managing when working as a Production Assistant at "From Broadway with Love: A Benefit Concert for Parkland”. Realizing they’d found a world that combines their love of the performing arts with their organizational flair, they dedicated themselves to making this their career that very night of the performance.
They graduated from The University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in Stage Management in 2024, learning how to create theatre in difficult circumstances throughout the pandemic.
In their free time, Alex loves weightlifting, reading, taking their cat Kiwi for walks, and the occasional Nintendo game.
